Holiday Hangouts Are Fun!

Hey everybody; Rose here. Just thought we'd update you on the happenings recently. Ash and I had Kevin over to hang out, and we took some really great pictures of him and a few videos. Be sure to check them out. Kevin's hair has grown a lot longer than the first picture we posted of him. He spent a long time getting it ready before he came. ;] Anyways, we'll post up some more stuff soon. Ashley and I have found the instruments we're interested in getting, and we'll be saving up to buy them. Everything's coming together!

Here's Kevin with his guitar:

New Band Myspace!

www.myspace.com/fridgeafteropening
It's empty.
It's so empty that when you look into it, it reflects you like a mirror.
That's okay! We've still got some time before any music goes up there anyway. We might have Bree do an A Capella version of a song or two for an example of our sound, but for right now you'll just have to wait.

Also! If you ever have any questions or want to speak to the band (or a member of the band) e-mail us at:
fridgeafteropening@gmail.com
If you want to speak to a certain person, just put their name in the subject. We all check this e-mail.

I figured I'd use this post to do a little bit of advertising. If you haven't heard of Will Knaak yet, you're about to:
He's a local Austin musician who has a bit of a southern western/rock sound and it's great stuff. He's the sweetest guy around and his music is good, so check him out at:
www.myspace.com/willknaak

Thanks, guys!

Oh, and by the way everyone, it has been requested by Kevin (and agreed by me) to let each of you know that he is the master of amazing hugs. ;) Look out for 'em.

MORE POSTS AT A LATER TIME!

Renamed and ready to roll!

We are now, "Refrigerate After Opening" or R.A.O. for short.

We have around five good and usable songs written (or almost completed), titled as follows:

Quiet the Tensions of Your World
Hold Onto Love
The Time Will Come
Life Goes On
You're Already Gone

Among others I may or may not know about because we're all working pretty hard right now. I may post some lyrics within the next few days if my bandmates are willing.

Meet the members.

Thought I would post some pictures and profiles! Here goes:

This is Bree. She is 17 and has been singing for most of her life. She grew up in Austin, Texas but currently lives in San Marcos. She has an unmatched love for art and other craftsy things (that I would definitely have no patience for!) such as making clothing, dolls and fabulous pictures in general.

Kevin is 16. He's fairly shy and quiet around new friends and strangers, but is guaranteed to make you laugh. He is a self-taught guitarist with great technique and is a wonderful artist when he's got a pencil in his hand. He lives in Austin, Texas but hopes to one day travel to Japan.

This is me--Ash. I'm 16. Though I have been singing for the vast majority of my life, I find much joy in playing musical instruments and hope to portray that well through the bass guitar when I'm not making movies. I've lived all around Austin, Texas and it's done me well. This is definitely the best place for film and music!

Here's Rose. Shes is 18--the oldest of the group. She is originally from Georgia but moved to North Carolina and finally found her home with me here in Austin. She is a huge media critic and can tell you anything about "today" in the blink of an eye. Her favorite pastimes always include her closest friends and she is very excited to learn the keyboard/piano.

Day 1: Hello, everybody!

Ashley Potts here, the future bassist of what will hopefully be an amazing band.
We've been calling ourselves "Shattered Addiction" for a while but we're going to turn over a new leaf--we've got a new sound, new ideas and hopefully, new luck.

Our members are as follows:
Vocals: Briana (Bree) Cromer
Guitar: Kevin Mau
Bass Guitar (And Backup Vocals): Ashley Potts
Keyboards: Courtney (Rose) Singleton

We're looking at a few new names that read well off of coke cans and iced tea bottles. I've been working a few lyrics out and a bit of music to match with them.

Rose and I are actually new to the bass and keyboards--meaning you will be learning of us as we learn our instruments, which hopefully will be an interesting experience.

And... as I am a filmmaker, it is also a high possibility that our future music will find its way into my on-screen projects--just a thought!

Anyway, this was just a short introduction. We can't wait to start making music! (:
